About Julius 

Welcome, everyone! My name is Julius Yax and I will soon be a high school art teacher in Thompson or Poudre School District. I decided to go into art education because of my passion for art and desire to continue learning new media and because I believe the arts have a special place in education to teach mental and emotional health as well as the development of technical skills. I believe that if students don’t feel safe and welcome in a space, then they cannot authentically create. I intend to make that space and work with students to foster artistic ability and emotional health.

I hope to get to know all of you throughout this semester as we explore and learn the many forms art takes, expect to work hard and be challenged creatively and expect to have fun and decompress too.
