EDUC 450
My practicum placement for EDUC 450 was in Poudre High School. I observed and taught in a Photo 1 class for Q1 and Photo 2 for Q2 with the same mentor teacher. Between my time in the classroom and the lecture portion of the course where we covered topics like standards, lesson plan components, instructional strategies, and equitable grading, I have gained invaluable knowledge, and my confidence and competence as a teacher have skyrocketed. I feel prepared to student teach next semester and to go into the world of teaching.

Standard 1: Demonstrates Mastery of and Pedagogical Expertise in Content
Resume
I chose my resume to document my expertise in content as it displays the continued and unique educational experiences I've had in the classroom as well as my decade-long dedication to the arts and continued media mastery

Lesson Plan 2
In this lesson, I introduce, show relevant contemporary artists, and demonstrate a new skill to students, for some this is the first time they are working in a fiber media. This takes mastery of artistic content and accumulated skill.

Standard 2: Establishes a safe, inclusive, and respectable learning environment for a diverse population of students.
Narrative/Modifications, Adaptations, Accommodations Paper
The narrative paper served as a tool to look at the differences and similarities between my mentor teacher’s curated learning environment before I joined her class and while I was there. It also made me further reflect on how I will create a safe, equitable, and diverse learning environment as a teacher.
Mentor Teacher/450 Instructor Feedback forms
In combination with the narrative paper, the feedback form is documentation by the mentor teacher that I strive to create a safe and creative place for the students.

Standard 3: Plans and delivers effective instruction and creates an environment that facilitates learning for students.
Lesson Plan 1
I focused on the first lesson plan because I made this lesson, focused on building stronger critique skills was created in response to witnessing critiques in class and feeling like I could help to alleviate some of the anxiety and pressure. By treating critique as a conversation instead of a list of shortcomings or unending “I like” statements, the students get more out of it as artists, and its much more rewarded and entertaining to be a part of.
Data Analysis Protocol
This data analysis is based on evidence and documentation from the first lesson plan. It contains my reflection on my instruction and how students received it in the moment, and then used it, or didn’t use it in the future.

Standard 4: Demonstrates professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership
Interdisciplinary Assessment Assignment
I took a leadership role in our interdisciplinary assignment. I filled in absent group members, made the group chat, created shared documents, and made individual and group templates for everyone. I was a leader and organizer but I was not the only one who made decisions, we discussed everything with the group, as it was everyone’s grades that were affected.
MTV Strategy Lesson
The MTV strategy lesson was the first lesson my teaching peers and professors saw of mine. My first teaching impression so-to-say. I had to exude professionalism and leadership and have confidence in my ability to hold the attention of my peers and teach them a strategy through my content.
